Plitvice National Park & Porec, Croatia
/We only stopped in Krka National Park in Croatia for a few hours before heading on to our final destination of the day -- Plitvice National Park.
We spent one night in Plitvice, getting up early the next morning for what we thought would be a long, strenuous hike. Instead, the park was a bit more tourist-friendly than we are used to in Colorado. A bus took us uphill to the top of the lake systems, so we could walk down boarded walkways to see waterfalls along the way. The color of the lakes is unbelievably turquoise. It actually seems fake, and I'm not sure how the lakes manage to look the way they do.
The hike didn't take long on the boardwalk, and we ended up adding Porec to our agenda for the day before stopping for the next four nights in Rovinj, Croatia.
